After an amazing week of coverage for all things great about climbing, heralded by Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson’s awe inspiring ascent of Dawn Wall we decided it was time shamelessly jump on the El Cap bandwagon and help more climbers achieve their El Cap dreams. If you thought Dawn Wall was beyond you think again, join in our El Cap challenge and be proved wrong! We challenge you to climb 3000ft in 19 days. Just like Caldwell and Jorgeson but without the need for sleepovers, portaledges or expensive flights…and with full access to flushing toilets at all times. We’ve labelled up some El Cap Top Rope routes at the centre and challenge you to climb the equivalent of 915m (approx. 3000ft) between 1st and 19th February. That’s 19 days to prove that anything is possible when you have a dry wall, sleep and access to great food! We’re even throwing in a free T for all of you that complete the challenge.
So – sign up at reception from 1st February to receive a Log Route Card and get climbing. Taking part costs absolutely nothing – just pay your normal entrance fee and get going. For those of you with delicate hands Climbskin is now in stock to keep your hands nice and soft throughout the challenge ;-). We hope this will be great fun for everyone – friends, family, climbing partners. Let’s create our very own Dawn Wall here at the Quay!
